Avengers 2 Already In Development, Says Disney

In a move that could have been predicted weeks ago—and only reinforced by the outrageous box office numbers from the past week—Disney announced today that “Avengers 2” is indeed already in development.

Shocking, we know.

Deadline has the scant report, which includes a quote from Disney CEO Bob Iger, who explained that the film’s success “is a great illustration of why we like Marvel so much.” So, money?

The announcement adds “Avengers 2” to the Marvel line-up that currently includes “Iron Man 3” and “Thor 2” in 2013 and “Captain America 2” coming in 2014. Best guess (and a lot of speculation) puts “Avengers 2” debuting roughly sometime in 2015.
