The Walking Dead First Official Cast Photo

The Walking Dead fans have already been treated to gloriously gory images of zombies and leading man Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), and now the remaining series regulars have been revealed.

The first official cast photo from “The Walking Dead” was revealed in an invite to Circle of Confusion, Skybound and Wired’s San Diego Comic-Con party celebrating the series’ debut, as discovered by io9. With only the briefest glimpse at a zombie, this latest “Walking Dead” photo clearly tells fans what this show is really all about — the characters.

Pictured from left to right are Emma Bell as an unnamed college student (possibly Amy), Jon Bernthal as troubled law enforcer Shane, Steven Yeun as the resourceful Glenn, Sarah Wayne Callies as Rick’s wife Lori, Chandler Riggs as their young son Carl, the previously revealed Lincoln as Rick, Jeffrey DeMunn as resident old guy Dale and Laurie Holden as his sharpshooter girlfriend Andrea.

If there’s one thing the cast photo gets across, it’s the fact that the AMC series will remain faithful to the Robert Kirkman-penned comic book series, if only on a visual level. The characters seen here are spitting images of their comic book counterparts, Dale especially. Even Holden looks picture perfect as Andrea, despite being some years older than the character’s depiction in the comics.
