Merits of 3-D movies going forward

The column is a tad cynical, but still has some merits, esp. this:

In all of the 3D movies that you’ve seen, have you felt that ANY of them have really taken advantage of the technology? If you say yes, you’re a liar. The only film that’s even come close is Avatar and 3D has been around since 1939. It took 71 years for one movie to do it right.

Do you need to see Remains of the Day or The English Patient in 3-D? What are your thoughts?
