Batman writer Scott Snyder is opposing plans to increase the price of the series.

He took to Twitter to say that he and artist Greg Capullo are in talks with DC Comics about the controversial move.

Batman #35 was announced to be increasing from a $3.99 (£2.50) cover price to $4.99 (£3.10).

Batman relaunched in 2011 at $2.99 (£1.90) – following DC’s ‘holding the line at $2.99’ initiative.

The price has strayed as high as $7.99 (£4.99) for special issues of the series.

Batman #35 will be released on October 8, launching the ‘Endgame’ storyline
