“Farscape has an incredible level of brand equity with people around the globe, and the fan base continues to grow with each new generation of young viewers embracing the amazing stories and engaging characters,” said Richard Goldsmith, EVP Global Distribution, The Jim Henson Company. “The timing of BSKYB’s broadcast is perfect to celebrate the series 15th anniversary.”

The original Farscape series comprises 88 one-hour episodes. Fusing live-action, state-of-the-art puppetry, prosthetics and CGI animation, FARSCAPE is hailed by TV Guide as one of the 25 Best Cult TV Shows, and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy. Winner of two prestigious Saturn Awards, Farscape was the first original series to air on SYFY and it gained a loyal fan following. The show’s success propelled ancillary products such as comics, games, a novel and magazine. A special collectors set was released for the first time on Blu-ray and on DVD in November 2013 by Cinedigm.
In Farscape, which airs in the U.S. on the new Pivot network targeting millenials (ages 18-34), astronaut John Crichton assumes he’ll be home in time for dinner. But a freak accident during an experimental space mission catapults him across a thousand galaxies to an alien battlefield. Suddenly, he’s trapped among alien creatures wielding deadly technology—a battle that 20th century sci-fi pop culture never prepared him for. Hunted by a merciless military race, Crichton begins his quest for home from a galaxy far, far away…
Farscape is one of those few shows that really grabbed me, deeply and fully, right from the beginning. I am a bit envious of the people who are getting to see Farscape for the very first time. The weirdness, the wonder and the getting caught up for the very first time again. There just isn’t enough of that in life anymore.
