Originally announced as a police procedural show featuring a younger James Gordon, the upcoming GOTHAM series on the Fox network appears to have changed plans slightly.
Our friends at Comic Frontline posted the details, which reveal that the show will now feature a young Bruce Wayne in his formative years, growing up in the city that helped make him into the iconic hero we all know and love, Batman. Originally, Wayne was not going to appear, or so we were led to believe anyway.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, which DC then posted on their own blog confirming it, that Wayne would indeed be a part of the show. In fact, Fox Entertainment Chairman, Kevin Reilly, in the article, seemed to take a dig at competing network, ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stating that “This is not one of the things where you bought a franchise and then none of characters people know,” possibly referring to the vast majority of AOS’ cast of characters being unknown to comic and general viewers.
