The Huntress Revealed on the CW’s Arrow

We learned way back in August that Jessica De Gouw would portray Helena Bertinelli aka The Huntress on The CW’s Arrow and now we’ve got the first glimpse of her (via EW).

“She is the dark mirror version of Oliver,” said Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg, “and it was a nice contrast to him because he’s pretty extreme. He goes a lot further than not only his comic book version but lots of comic book characters — most have a code of draws the line against killing… Oliver has taken the darkness inside with him and is doing something positive with it. She’s taken the darkness inside her and is seeking revenge and doesn’t care who gets hurt in the process.”

But how many episodes will the DC heroine appear in?

“It’s two episodes for now but we definitely hope we see more of her. We certainly set her up as an interesting foil for Oliver and we’re excited to see where else we can take her.”

The character will make her debut on the November 28 episode, titled “Vendetta.”

Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Colin Donnell as Tommy, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, with Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen and Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance. The show airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

I’ve been having a lot of Smallville withdrawals lately, so I’ll gladly take Arrow with a slew of DC characters anytime. I initially had a problem with Amell playing Queen instead of Hartley, but a coworker at DISH convinced me that Amell was the right fit. The show has plenty of action, and it’s recorded to my DISH Hopper for all those nights I feel like reliving scenes. I’m just glad that I have a DVR with enough memory to record everything I want to. Cheers to DC staying strong on the CW.
