The Avengers Updates From The Marvel Studios Chief

Thor struck thunder upon comic book movie lovers everywhere over the weekend with the release of its first official trailer. In celebration of the Thunder God’s impending arrival, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige took the opportunity to reach out to fans to discuss the company’s film making future.

Collider has an extensive recap of Feige’s conversation with Hero Complex readers, which revealed a wide variety of details including the fact that Tony Stark would upgrade his armor for The Avengers.

“The best part about making an Iron Man movie is deciding which of his many armors to debut,” he said. “[Director Joss Whedon] would kill me if I gave anything away, but I will say that the evolution you saw his armor take in ‘Iron Man 2’ will continue in ‘The Avengers.'”

Regarding new properties, Feige reiterated his enthusiasm for Doctor Strange, Black Panther and Luke Cage, while adding that The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Runaways and Edgar Wright’s long developing Ant-Man adaptation are “gonna take up the next three years of my life.”

“Edgar was here a few days ago,” he added, suggesting that “Ant-Man” is trucking along just fine. “He’s already working on the next draft.”

Feige also mentioned that “various plans are in the works” for The Punisher now that the property is officially back “in house” at Marvel Studios, and that “a very talented writer is currently working on a draft” of Iron Fist. We learned in August that xXx veteran Rich Wilkes had been tapped to write the Iron Fist screenplay.

And for those that missed it here is the Thor Trailer…
