Christopher Lambert Joins Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance

In Ghost Rider lore, multiple men have carried the curse of the rider with them throughout their lives, including Johnny Blaze and his brother Danny Ketch. But if you asked the latest Ghost Rider cast member what he thinks of the character’s legacy, he would likely tell you that there can only be one.

“Highlander” actor Christopher Lambert has joined the cast of Ghost Rider: Spirit with a Vengeance, according to the actor himself in a post on the official “Highlander” Facebook page.

According to the entry, Lambert “is in talks” to star in the “Ghost Rider” sequel and has already spent three months doing sword training, indicating that his role is a particularly action-heavy character.

Lambert is best known for playing immortal swordsman Connor MacLeod in the “Highlander” series, going blade-to-blade against notable actors such as Clancy Brown and Mario Van Peebles. He starred in four out of five “Highlander” films, eventually passing the torch to actor Adrian Paul, the star of the “Highlander” television series. Beyond “Highlander,” Lambert delivered a memorable turn as Raiden in “Mortal Kombat,” surrendering the role to Red actor James Remar for the sequel.

In signing on for “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance,” Lambert joins a growing cast that includes Nicolas Cage as Johnny Blaze, Ciaran Hinds as the devil, Idris Elba as an alcoholic warrior monk, Johnny Whitworth as the devil’s minion and Violante Placido as the mother of the devil’s child. Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are directing the film, with shooting slated to begin next month in Romania.
